Blackmagic Design today also announced the Decklink Mini Monitor and Recorder. These two new
products look to be very similar to Blackmagic’s Ultrastudio Mini products, however in a PCI-e card form factor. Both the Mini Monitor and Recorder have both HDMI and SDI interfaces to allow connection to everything from consumer grade HDMI camcorders to high end SDI production switchers. The new Decklink cards use the same Xilinx Spartan FPGA as the higher end Decklink cards, but will only allow either playout or capture depending on the respective model. The two cards are due to go on sale for $145 in April.
