Being able to add ad hoc text and live data sources to Wirecast is something that many people have been trying to achieve. Have seen scrolling text across the bottom of the screen added by creating a movie with an alpha channel (invisible) background and putting that on another layer over the top of the main content. Another favourite is to take the output of Wirecast and feed it into CamTwist and use CamtTwist options to add data.
With a few spare hours this morning following on from an idea yesterday I set about adding live Twitter data to Wirecast and build a solution that displays on screen for 10 seconds any new Tweets to the stream you are monitoring.
This is usable as is but hopefully will play around a bit more with this during the week and if there is interest will provide the instructions, files and a video explaining how to set it up. Ideally this needs a second Mac, you can do it on the same Mac as Wirecast if you have enough screen space.
