StudioTech – Wirecast Series: Part 2 of Building the Ultimate Mac Wirecast System?

In this episode we look at configuring the two Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro cards along with the Blackmagic Design Decklink Duo for use with Wirecast, as well as demonstrating the Blackmagic Design HDMI to SDI mini converter!

The installation went without a hitch and the Declink SDI ports need less configuring in Wirecast than the Intensity Pro. Very pleased with the results so far.

Future episodes will look at using Wirecast whether you are just starting with the software or have been using it for a while there will be something for you in this series!

Hi Mark,
I’ve been watching the wirecast Series 1 and 2,
The are really educative and, can lead the way to the ultimate BC system.
I wonder if you also tested the ability to record a program/broadcast.

Did did you make DV or HD recordings in quicktime-format above ± 15.000 kbps or 35.000kbps or more on the harddisc, and did the recordings mis any frames?

We are planing to set up a configuration like you described in your wirecast Series, with a macpro.

    Hi Hein,

Wil need to check the settings we have for HD recordings at 720p. Haven’t seen any dropped frames but we do get longer frames sometimes due to the variable frame rate. This means we cant just drop the file into FCP7 but have to process it first. This is a pain!
