A totally new application to allow you to control Wirecast with a Korg (and potentially any) midi controller has been in beta test for the past week. A handful of problems have been fixed, some new features suggested by testers added, and we are getting close to sharing it with the Wirecast community.
This new release is a significant step in adding new capabilities and allowing much more flexibility and potential. Rather than just running an Applescript within MidiPipe or calling other Applescripts from MidiPipe the new version just passes the midi data from MidiPipe to an OS X Application – TTFN Midi.
TTFN Midi allows additional function to be added above and beyond just telling Wirecast what to do!
It provides:
- Status display of last action sent to Wirecast
- A log window of all actions and error messages – great for troubleshooting.
- Preview / Live mode: switches the last live shot to the preview window – just like on commercial switchers! Pressing one button allows you to switch between last and current shots.
- A countdown timer – great for remind you to change subject, go to commercial etc
- Timers giving length of your stream and / or recording. Help keeps you on time!
All being well the new version will be out by 12 March 2011! <— Now the 13 March 2011, sorry for the delay!

Hey Mark,
I can’t wait for this to be released! I saw you on TTB and remember you asking for a USB board for controlling a light on the cameras to show which is live. There is a cheap board available from Maplin in the UK called the Velleman K8055. It is about £40 built or £30 if you want to build it yourself.
Love what you are doing for the community,
John.
